A great way to sleep

Polly seems to be learning to soothe herself to sleep by sucking her hands and fingers, and she's succeeded 3 times the last few days! Here's the little one sound asleep by that method in the kitchen while I was busy marinating chicken.

And here's another of a funny hand positioning. I've got to hand it to the girl; only 2 months old and sleeping much, much better than her big sister did as a baby. Let's hope Polly continues to sleep well.

Polly sitting pretty in her new high chair

The chair's alright...

Erhem... where did that sound come from?

Haha, alright it was me! Say, I'm feeling really comfortable in this chair now!

The things they say...

or, the things we've heard Penelope say these past few days!
"Fortunately there's space here." (where did she get that from??)
"Wo jiao Pepe!!!" (defiant response to "Ni jiao shen me ming? Ni jiao Ying Ying ma?" from a kindly church aunty who was trying to encourage Pepe to speak more Mandarin)
"Baba, play with me just a little bit while..." (but Baba had to go off to work... :(
"No, I won't do that." (she's been trying our patience and our faith these days! the terrible twos I suppose; hopefully she'll outgrow this phase soon)
"... and Bear Bear went to the museum where the man with the yellow hat was, and where Meshuggas [her toy kitten, named after a kitten in a Christmas play] was." (she loves telling stories these days, with inspiration drawn from various places, primarily books she's 'read')
"Mama, I'm reading the Bible." (she was really looking at "You're Special" by Lucado, of the well-known story of the Wemmicks; later she referred to that book as "Meshuggas's Bible")
